I joined Best Friends Vets in April 2007 having previously worked in the NHS as a ward sister. After working in the NHS for 37yrs the transition into another field of medicine was very daunting at first. However, I feel very fortunate to have found a job which I love and where colleagues have a genuine interest in the well-being of animals.
I know all too well the emotional roller-coaster you go through as an animal owner. I lost my beloved Maxie 2 years ago, but he is now replaced by a very naughty Jack Russell called Charlie. He gives me hours of pleasure and I wouldn't be without him ... despite chasing him around the house with my tights in his mouth!
Animal welfare is a complex matter and working at Best Friends Vets has opened up a whole new sphere of learning for me. Although I know I have a lot to learn, I will endeavour to help you whenever I can to maintain the physical wellbeing of your animal and to support your emotional needs.
