Veterinary Surgeon Dr.med.vet., MRCVS

Hello, my name is Stefan Radermacher, and I am the veterinary surgeon and clinical manager at Best Friends Vets. I grew up on a busy farm in Germany surrounded by many animals, and becoming a vet was the only career I ever seriously considered. I feel very lucky to have been able to fulfill my ambitions and to have the opportunity to work in my own clinic.

Registered Veterinary Nurse - RVN

I always knew I wanted to be a veterinary nurse and used to cycle off secretly to the Royal Vet College field station, Hertfordshire in my school holidays to do work experience. I qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1983 and worked for various practices in London and Dorset while bringing up my two children. In 1998 I started to work at Best Friends Veterinary Surgery until 2006 when I had a spell working in a school Science department. I returned to Best Friends in Sept 2015 as veterinary nursing is in my blood, so I just couldn't stay away.

Receptionist

I joined Best Friends Vets in April 2007 having previously worked in the NHS as a ward sister. After working in the NHS for 37yrs the transition into another field of medicine was very daunting at first. However, I feel very fortunate to have found a job which I love and where colleagues have a genuine interest in the well-being of animals.
